Abeking & Rasmussen Rotec GmbH & Co. KG becomes the SGL Rotec GmbH & Co. KG joint venture between the SGL Group – The Carbon Company – and Abeking & Rasmussen Schiffs- und Yachtwerft AG.

2007

PowerBlades GmbH is established –
a joint venture between REpower Systems AG and Abeking & Rasmussen Rotec GmbH & Co. KG. 

2000 onward

Rotor blades are produced increasingly by vacuum infusion.
This process allows the reproducible manufacture of large rotor blades with high laminate quality.

Early 1990s

Ever since Abeking & Rasmussen Rotec GmbH & Co. KG was formed as a subsi-
diary of Abeking & Rasmussen Schiffs- und Yachtwerft AG in 1993 it has been a manufacturer of rotor blades from fiber-reinforced plastics, leading the field in terms of both technology and product quality.

It is Abeking & Rasmussen Rotec GmbH & Co. KG who have made the world's largest rotor blade to date – at 40 meters in length – for the two-blade AEOLUS II plant.

In the 1970s

To meet ever-increasing demands, Abeking & Rasmussen Schiffs- und Yachtwerft AG regularly acquires the necessary expertise in the handling and processing of fiber-reinforced plastics.

1926

Construction of the first aerodynamic rotor blades for water supply and delivery plants by the wood strip building method.
These plants were used in farming operations.
